Why should I choose Royal Tint Cloaking Film instead of mounting a standard LED screen on the wall?

Cloaking Film turns the glass you already have into a display surface, something a bulky wall-mounted screen or a glass replacement simply cannot do as cleanly. When the LED behind it is off, the film hides everything behind the glass, so the surface just looks like clean, neutral glass. When the LED switches on, your content shines through bright and sharp. You get a display and a clear glass partition in one, with no heavy hardware on show.

Three practical reasons offices, shops, and showrooms make the switch:

Near-total cloaking: the nano layer hides background content at 99.95% efficiency across the full visible range (400–700 nm), so when the screen is off your glass looks like neutral Clear Grey glass, not a switched-off monitor.
Stays bright: Cloaking Film keeps 42% visible light transmittance, so daylight still flows through your space instead of being blocked by a solid display panel.
Built to last: a scratch-resistant 1H/2H surface and a 5-year effective warranty mean the film keeps performing for years, with no wiring, brackets, or screen frames to maintain.

How long does it take to install Cloaking Film, and do I need to replace my glass?

No glass replacement needed. Cloaking Film is self-adhesive and applies directly onto your existing indoor glass using a high-tack acrylic adhesive, so there is no demolition and your frames stay untouched. At just .007” thick, it adds almost no bulk. One important point: this film is directional and thicker than ordinary window film, so it should always be fitted by an authorised Royal Tint installer who has completed the proper training.

Here is what a typical installation looks like:

Custom cutting every panel is cut to your exact glass size, including any seams that larger surfaces may need.
Professional fitting trained technicians apply the film in the correct direction and confirm the finish with you, including how any seams will look.

Because it is fitted onto existing glass, most single-area installations are quick, while larger or multi-panel projects are planned around your site. Please note that Cloaking Film is designed for indoor commercial glass only it is not suitable for outdoor use, bathrooms, or high-humidity areas such as swimming pools.

How does Cloaking Film work with my LED display or screen?

Cloaking Film is made to pair with an LED display placed behind the glass, and the two work together automatically. There are no switches, cables, or power needed on the film itself your existing display does all the work.

Here is how the film and your screen work as a pair:

Screen off: the film cloaks the glass, so anything behind it stays hidden and the surface simply looks like neutral Clear Grey glass.
Screen on: the directional light from your LED cuts straight through the film, and the glass becomes a vivid, full display rather than a window with content behind it.
During the day: with 42% light transmittance, the glass still lets natural light through, so the space never feels closed in.

Because the effect comes from the film and your LED working together, there is nothing extra to power, charge, or connect on the film side.

Is Cloaking Film safe and certified for commercial spaces?

Yes. Cloaking Film carries no electrical current of its own it is a passive film bonded to your glass, so there is no voltage, no wiring inside the film, and nothing to switch on the surface itself. That makes it simple and safe to live with in busy, high-contact environments.

Royal Tint Cloaking Film is tested and certified for commercial architectural use:

REACH SVHC 263 screened against the list of substances of very high concern.
RoHS compliant meeting restrictions on hazardous substances.
ASTM E 84 Class A the top rating for surface burning characteristics in building materials.
VOC CA 01350 tested for low chemical emissions, supporting healthier indoor air.

This makes it well suited to sensitive settings such as offices, banks, hotels, exhibition spaces, and healthcare facilities. If any product is found to be defective, simply report it to Royal Tint within 10 working days of receipt to arrange a replacement.

What exactly is Cloaking Film and how does it actually work?

Cloaking Film (Model LS01) is a thin, self-adhesive nano film that sticks directly onto architectural glass and turns it into a surface for LED displays. When the screen behind it is off, the film hides the content; when the screen is on, the display shines through clearly. No glass replacement, no demolition, just a clean display surface on the glass you already have.

The idea behind it is simple:

Cloaking layer: a nano layer of PET, polyvinyl, and triacetate absorbs and diffuses light at 99.95% efficiency, so whatever sits behind the glass becomes invisible when the LED is off.
Display comes through: when the LED switches on, its focused light passes cleanly through the film and the glass reads as a bright display, not a window with something behind it.
Daylight kept: the film holds 42% visible light transmittance with a neutral Clear Grey tint, so your space stays bright and natural.
